The Access Bank Malta attends IFC’s 9th Global Trade Partners Meeting

Mr. Bieni Alex-Okoh – Head of Relationship Management, had the pleasure of attending the International Finance Corporation (IFC) 9th Global Trade Partners Meeting, held in Lisbon from 24–26 March 2026. The event provided extensive networking opportunities with over 400 senior delegates from more than 50 countries, representing banks across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and other emerging markets.

The event brought together a diverse network of global financial institutions and corporations participating in IFC’s trade finance programmes. The three-day event featured a structured agenda of expert-led panels and discussions addressing key trends shaping the global trade environment. Particularly, this included a keynote address by Seyi Kumapayi, Executive Director African Subsidiaries at Access Bank Plc. 

The programme culminated in the IFC Awards Dinner, which recognised high-performing partner institutions and reinforced the collaborative nature of the Global Trade Finance Program (GTFP), which plays a critical role in facilitating cross-border trade and supporting economic development in underserved markets. Access Bank Plc secured the award for ‘Best Trade Partner Bank West Africa’. 

Attendance at the conference delivered significant strategic value for The Access Bank Malta Limited, strengthening its relationship with IFC and deepening engagement within the global correspondent banking network. The Bank looks forward to strengthening these partnerships through tangible future collaborations.
