Access Keys

Keyboard shortcuts have been built in to help people who have difficulty using a mouse or pointing device. We’ve used a standard system – see what keys to use for what below.

HOW TO USE ACCESS KEYS

Internet Explorer 8+ and Google Chrome (PC) Hold down the ALT key and press the number or letter of the access key Mozilla Firefox (PC) Hold down the ALT key and press the number or letter of the access key.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR REMOVING IMAGES

Internet Explorer 8.x and above Open the Tools menu, select Internet Options, and select Advanced at the top of the page. Under Accessibility select, Always expand ALT text for images. Scroll down to the Multimedia section, and deselect Show pictures. Mozilla Firefox Open the Tools menu, select options. In the left side vertical menu select the Web Features tab. Then in the central panel untick the Load Images tick box. Google Chrome Open the Chrome menu, select Preferences then scroll to the bottom of the page to show Advanced Settings. Then under ‘Add additional accessibility features’ select from the desired extensions.
